If you’re unable to visit the demonstration center in person, our team can deliver virtual demonstrations and connect you directly with our European team to evaluate your site.

Arcturus is well-suited for any facility that requires steam at pressures up to 300 psig or 20.7 barg. Typically, sectors include chemicals, ethanol, pulp and paper, food and beverage, mining and metals, and textiles.

Although all industries and facilities are unique, some common heat sources are:

  • Machine exhaust from processing facilities
  • Vapor condensation from condensers, separation towers, crystallizers and evaporators
  • Combustion exhaust from cracking furnaces, process stream heaters, thermal oxidizers, process ovens, and co-gen units
  • Refrigeration compressors, process chillers, and refrigerant condensers
  • Exhaust from dryers, process ovens, fryers, and evaporator surface condensers

Arcturus generates boiler-quality steam at much higher efficiencies than traditional fossil fuel-fired boilers and e-boilers, providing a cost advantage over traditional steam generation systems. 

A brand new, state-of-the-art natural gas (steam) boiler has a typical efficiency of 83%, corresponding to a coefficient of performance (COP) of 0.83 – up to eight times lower than Arcturus’s COP. This means that natural gas boilers require much more energy in the form of natural gas than Arcturus requires in the form of electricity to produce steam, leading to the cost advantage. Note that low electricity costs and high natural gas prices, as well as fuel-switching between Arcturus and existing systems, increases this advantage. 

The demonstration center is located at Skyven’s facility in Dallas, Texas. It demonstrates the same features as Arcturus systems at customer facilities, including steam generation, automated controls, and energy arbitrage, at a location where we can host site visits.

Arcturus has the ability to produce steam at higher temperatures, pressures, and efficiencies than other heat pumps, thanks to its open-cycle Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) Steam Generating Heat Pump (SGHP) design.

Yes, the demonstration center highlights Arcturus’s seamless integration with existing steam generation systems, like fossil fuel-fired boilers.

If your facility meets one or more of the following conditions, let’s have an initial discussion:
